Saxony - Leipzig Area
In the southern and southeastern area of Leipzig a lot of gravelpits of the river Mulde are located. Besides agates, jaspers and petrified wood you can also find lithophysae agates from the primary locations south to Leipzig (e.g. St. Egidien).

The gravelpit of Hirschfeld is located east to Leipzig opposite (to the north) of the gravelpit of Kleinpösna.
That's an amazing little banded lithophysae core with a bit of matrix left found in that gravelpit. The original location could be Bockelwitz near Leisnig.

The gravelpit of Kleinpösna is also located east-southeast to Lepizig.
This piece is probably a core from a lithophysae agate. But it also can be a pseudomorph nodule or vein agate.
gravelpit Otterwisch

The gravelpit Otterwisch can be found in the southeastern area of Leipzig.
This small water warn thunderegg agate core can be allocated to the outcrop of St. Egidien..
gravelpit Pomßen
size:
Pomßen and Hirschfeld might be the best known gravelpits around Leipzig. It can be found directly north to Otterwisch.
This nice and large water warn lithophysae agate with multiple images can be allocated to one of the primary sources of the Leisnig area.
